Get into Claude Design.

Claude Design launched on April 17, 2026. It is part of your Claude subscription — no new account, no waitlist. Here is where to find it.

Research Preview

Claude Design is an Anthropic Labs product, which means it is new and actively being developed. You may hit occasional bugs or quirks. That is normal — it is not you. If something does not work, refresh and try again.

Open Claude Design

Go to claude.ai/design in your browser. You will land directly in the Design workspace.

What you will see when you open it

A workspace with a text prompt bar at the bottom and an empty canvas above it. On the right side there is a panel with editing controls. Ignore the panel for now — just focus on the prompt bar. Type what you want to build, and Claude generates a first version directly on the canvas. From there, everything happens through conversation in that same prompt bar.

What Claude Design can make

  • Business one-pagers and pitch documents
  • Slide decks and presentations
  • Mockups and prototypes
  • Social media graphics and marketing materials
  • Brand style guides and identity documents
Step 02 of 05

What do you want to build?

Pick the project that is most useful to you right now. Each one comes with a ready-to-use prompt written specifically for it.

📄
Business One-Pager
Explains what you do, who you help, and what they get. The thing you send when someone says "tell me more."
📱
Instagram Carousel
A scroll-stopping 5-slide carousel on any topic your audience cares about. Ready to post or export to Canva.
💼
Pitch Deck
A 6-slide deck for investors, sponsors, or partners. One clear idea per slide, designed to present on screen.
📩
Media Kit Cover
A designed first page that represents your brand and makes a strong first impression with partners and brands.
🎨
Brand Style Guide
Colors, fonts, tone of voice, and logo guidance on one shareable page — for contractors and collaborators.
🎂
Birthday Invitation
A designed party invite with all the details — ready to send as an image or print. Any theme, any vibe.
🖼️
Mood Board
Capture a feeling or direction for any project — home redesign, wardrobe, brand, event, photoshoot, or anything else.
📌
Event Flyer
A clear, shareable flyer for any event — school, community, online, or in-person. Designed for Instagram and print.
Vision Board
A visual representation of where you are headed — goals, intentions, and the feeling of the life you are building.
Not sure which one?

Pick whatever feels most useful right now — business or personal. If you want the lowest-stakes starting point, the mood board or vision board are great first projects because there is no wrong answer. If you want something immediately useful for your work, start with the one-pager.

Step 03 of 05

Your first prompt.

Fill in the brackets with your details, copy, and paste into Claude Design. You will have a first version in under a minute.

Before you start, gather these things

    Your Prompt Copy and personalize
    What happens next

Claude will generate a full designed layout — header, body copy, visual hierarchy, color choices. It will not be perfect on the first pass and that is exactly the point. Step 4 is where you make it yours.

Tips for a better first result

    • Be specific — the more detail you give Claude, the sharper the result
    • Include brand colors as hex codes if you have them — Claude applies them immediately. Not sure what a hex code is? Open your brand in Canva, click any color swatch, and copy the 6-character code starting with # — that is your hex code.
    • You can also upload your logo or an existing file and say "match this style"
    • Tell Claude the end use: "share as a PDF" or "post on Instagram" shapes the layout
    • No brand yet? Just describe the vibe: "warm and approachable," "bold and editorial," or "clean and minimal" — Claude will make good choices for you
    Step 04 of 05

    Make it yours.

Claude Design works through conversation. Your first version is a starting point, not a finished product. Use these prompts to get it closer to exactly what you need.

    Where to type your refinements

Use the same prompt bar at the bottom of the canvas — the one you used to create the design. Just type what you want changed and hit enter. Claude updates the design in real time. You can also click directly on any element in the design to leave an inline comment on that specific part. Every version is saved automatically so you can always go back.

If the layout feels too crowded
"The layout feels too crowded. Add more breathing room between each section and reduce the amount of text on the page. Keep the most important information, cut the rest."
If the copy does not sound like you
"Rewrite the body copy to sound warmer and more direct. Less corporate, more like I am talking to a friend. Keep it concise."
    If the colors need adjusting
"Change the background color to [your hex code] and the headline color to [your hex code]. Keep the rest of the design the same."
If you want a stronger visual
"Add a bold visual element — something that immediately communicates the tone of this piece. Keep the color palette and do not change the content."
If you want to see a totally different direction
"Show me a completely different design approach. Keep the same content but change everything else — layout, colors, visual style."
When you want a final polish pass
"Do a final polish pass. Check that the most important information is the first thing someone reads, tighten the spacing, and make sure nothing looks out of place."

What if the first result is completely off?

It happens — especially if the prompt was vague or Claude made unexpected choices. You have two options. One: stay in the same conversation and describe exactly what is wrong. "The layout is too busy, the colors are not what I wanted, and the tone feels too formal — let's start over with a simpler approach." Two: close the conversation and start a new one with a more detailed prompt. Starting over is not failure — it is how this tool works. The second prompt is almost always better than the first.

The mindset that makes Claude Design work

Think of it like working with a designer who is very fast and very literal. The more specifically you describe what you want changed, the better the result. "Make it better" is too vague. "Increase the headline size, add more space below it, and move the contact info to the bottom right" gives Claude exactly what it needs.

    Step 05 of 05

Get it out into the world.

Claude Design gives you four ways to get your work out of the tool. Pick the format that matches how you plan to use it.

    📄
    PDF
Send it in an email, attach it to a pitch, share via a link. The most universal option.
    🎨
    Canva
Export directly to Canva for further editing, team collaboration, or brand kit application.
    📊
    PPTX
Opens in PowerPoint or Keynote. Great if you want to present it or add speaker notes.
    🔗
    Share Link
Share a live URL directly from Claude Design. Anyone with the link can view it instantly.
    To export in Claude Design

Click the export button in the top right of the canvas. Choose your format. Done. If you are sending it as a PDF, download it first and check it on your phone — that is how most people will read it.

    Does Claude Design save automatically?

Yes — every version of your design is saved automatically as you work. You do not need to click save. Your conversation and design stay in your Claude history, and you can come back to any previous version at any time. Just do not clear your browser history or delete the conversation, and it will be there.

    After you export

    • Your design conversation stays in Claude — you can return and keep refining it anytime
    • If you want to hand the design off to a developer to build, use Claude Code handoff directly from within Claude Design
    • Check your export on your phone before sending — that is how most people will see it
    • Share your result with the @momsbuildai community — we want to see what you built
    ✓ First project complete

You just designed something with AI.

A tool that launched three days ago. A designed asset you can actually use. That is what it means to be early — and you are already here.

Go further with what you built.

The best next step is not starting something new — it is pushing what you just made further. Here are four ways to do that.

    🔁
    Make a version 2
Go back to your Claude Design conversation and ask for a completely different visual direction. Same content, new look. Pick the one that feels most like you.
    📐
Resize it for a different format
Ask Claude to adapt what you built for another size — square for Instagram, landscape for a presentation, or letter size for print. One prompt, new format.
    🎨
    Apply your full brand system
Upload your logo, paste in your exact hex codes, and ask Claude to rebuild the design with your real brand. This is when it starts feeling like yours.
    🔗
    Share it and get feedback
Use the share link to send your design to someone you trust and ask what reads clearly and what does not. Then go back to Claude with their notes.
