Get into Claude Design.
Claude Design launched on April 17, 2026. It is part of your Claude subscription — no new account, no waitlist. Here is where to find it.
Claude Design is an Anthropic Labs product, which means it is new and actively being developed. You may hit occasional bugs or quirks. That is normal — it is not you. If something does not work, refresh and try again.

A workspace with a text prompt bar at the bottom and an empty canvas above it. On the right side there is a panel with editing controls. Ignore the panel for now — just focus on the prompt bar. Type what you want to build, and Claude generates a first version directly on the canvas. From there, everything happens through conversation in that same prompt bar.
What Claude Design can make
- Business one-pagers and pitch documents
- Slide decks and presentations
- Mockups and prototypes
- Social media graphics and marketing materials
- Brand style guides and identity documents
What do you want to build?
Pick the project that is most useful to you right now. Each one comes with a ready-to-use prompt written specifically for it.
Pick whatever feels most useful right now — business or personal. If you want the lowest-stakes starting point, the mood board or vision board are great first projects because there is no wrong answer. If you want something immediately useful for your work, start with the one-pager.
Your first prompt.
Fill in the brackets with your details, copy, and paste into Claude Design. You will have a first version in under a minute.
Before you start, gather these things
Claude will generate a full designed layout — header, body copy, visual hierarchy, color choices. It will not be perfect on the first pass and that is exactly the point. Step 4 is where you make it yours.
Tips for a better first result
- Be specific — the more detail you give Claude, the sharper the result
- Include brand colors as hex codes if you have them — Claude applies them immediately. Not sure what a hex code is? Open your brand in Canva, click any color swatch, and copy the 6-character code starting with # — that is your hex code.
- You can also upload your logo or an existing file and say "match this style"
- Tell Claude the end use: "share as a PDF" or "post on Instagram" shapes the layout
- No brand yet? Just describe the vibe: "warm and approachable," "bold and editorial," or "clean and minimal" — Claude will make good choices for you
Make it yours.
Claude Design works through conversation. Your first version is a starting point, not a finished product. Use these prompts to get it closer to exactly what you need.
Use the same prompt bar at the bottom of the canvas — the one you used to create the design. Just type what you want changed and hit enter. Claude updates the design in real time. You can also click directly on any element in the design to leave an inline comment on that specific part. Every version is saved automatically so you can always go back.
What if the first result is completely off?
It happens — especially if the prompt was vague or Claude made unexpected choices. You have two options. One: stay in the same conversation and describe exactly what is wrong. "The layout is too busy, the colors are not what I wanted, and the tone feels too formal — let's start over with a simpler approach." Two: close the conversation and start a new one with a more detailed prompt. Starting over is not failure — it is how this tool works. The second prompt is almost always better than the first.
The mindset that makes Claude Design work
Think of it like working with a designer who is very fast and very literal. The more specifically you describe what you want changed, the better the result. "Make it better" is too vague. "Increase the headline size, add more space below it, and move the contact info to the bottom right" gives Claude exactly what it needs.
Get it out into the world.
Claude Design gives you four ways to get your work out of the tool. Pick the format that matches how you plan to use it.
Click the export button in the top right of the canvas. Choose your format. Done. If you are sending it as a PDF, download it first and check it on your phone — that is how most people will read it.
Yes — every version of your design is saved automatically as you work. You do not need to click save. Your conversation and design stay in your Claude history, and you can come back to any previous version at any time. Just do not clear your browser history or delete the conversation, and it will be there.
After you export
- Your design conversation stays in Claude — you can return and keep refining it anytime
- If you want to hand the design off to a developer to build, use Claude Code handoff directly from within Claude Design
- Check your export on your phone before sending — that is how most people will see it
- Share your result with the @momsbuildai community — we want to see what you built
You just designed something with AI.
A tool that launched three days ago. A designed asset you can actually use. That is what it means to be early — and you are already here.
